2nd Stage - Pasaia-Donostia

Distance in Km: 7,6 km

One of the most spectacular routes along the path starts in Pasai San Pedro, alongside beautiful cliffs.

We go through the coastal town of Pasaia whose historical centre stretches along a street parallel to the port and we can visit the Santa Ana heritage (18th century), built in a strategic position dominating the bay and the parish church of St John the Baptist (17th century), arranged in a Latin cross, with an 18th century Baroque altarpiece. Then we can pop into Victor Hugo's House (where the famous writer lived for a few days), and continue until we come to the Roncesvalles Calvary. Here we take the boat that crosses the mouth of the port to the district of Pasai San Pedro, where we can visit St Peter's church, completed in 1774. The typical fishermen's houses that stand along the dock lead the way to a particularly charming section of the route that provides spectacular views, next to the cliffs.

Perfil Hondarribia - Lezo - Pasaia

There are two ways of reaching San Sebastian: an urban bike route setting off from San Pedro continues along the road to San Sebastian; and the mountain itinerary that climbs through pine forests to the spectacular Plata lighthouse. From this point, the hike follows a coastal path parallel to a former water duct which retains its old aqueduct bridges. The stone path takes us to Mount Ulia, where the route climbs to a former watchtower, used since medieval times to look for whales. On reaching the Mendiola pass, we continue upwards along an earth path until we find a homestead and shortly afterwards Ulia park. At the entrance, we pass the access route to the hostel and start to go down along the former tram route where the rails came up from Ategorrieta to Ulia. After walking along an easy, pleasant path, we will soon be greeted by one of the most spectacular views of San Sebastian. We will then go into the city along calle Zemoriya as far as Zurriola beach.
